The market for Bakkies in SA has grown quite a lot in recent years and Toyota has been at the top of their game, so what is new about this Hilux?
Looks wise, for a tougher appearance it has a large new grille at the front in fact the whole front of the Hilux looks more like an American pick-up truck if you ask me, some newly designed headlights with LED lights for the more expensive variants. Inside we get an interior that we are familiar with but with new technical improvements, the new instrument cluster has now been updated with a 4.2 information screen and in the center of the dash an 8 inch infotainment screen which will now have Apple car play and Android Auto functionality.
With the engines the 2.8-liter turbodiesel is the one that receives an upgrade, the power is now up sitting at 150kW and 500Nm. With that the driving dynamics including the suspension and power steering have been tweaked so the Hilux is more comfortable and has better capability on and off-road.
The South Africa is yet to receive news on our launch but we will keep you updated.
