Be Taycan Away by Porsche's full on electric car.

More and more motoring brands are making their electric cars as the evolution of electricity in cars becomes a standard in our lives and not in some dream. Porsche also wants a piece of this action and have revealed their first fully electric car. The new Porsche Taycan is here.

Porsche is very synonymous with being a brand that makes fast cars that don’t compromise your daily life they fit in where you need it to be. Now with that Rep this Porsche does have the stuff to make a great electric sports car that can be a daily driver, firstly it has to look good and this Taycan does you wouldn’t mind seeing this car charging in your garage, it is a serious head turner and also looks like a Porsche which to me is a fantastic thing seeing as Porsche cars carry the heritage which each model and this definitely can take the brand forward but also looks like it belongs within the family tree. Quick facts though, the car is powered by two motors, one on each axle, giving it all-wheel-drive, right now the Taycan has two variants available a Turbo and a Turbo S. The Turbo will be pushing 500 kW and can get to 100kph in 3.2 seconds while the Turbo S has 560kW with overboost included and accelerates to 100kph in 2.8 seconds. The range on this car when fully charged is 450km for the Turbo and the Turbo S is 412km.

The inside, it looks very familiar to what we know of Porsche which is still a good thing, they didn’t go all space-aged with a weird design signalling a futuristic car. Though there are a lot of touch screens, there is one in the Centre of the dash, on the passenger’s side and on the Centre console which has been raised. Buttons have been kept to a minimum in this car but also there is a new voice control system that activates when it hears “Hey Porsche” now I don’t know which pronunciation the car uses but I’m sure it’s the correct one, many people say the word Porsche in different ways including myself so I hope on purchase the car comes with a pronunciation lesson.

This car will be sold in South Africa around the third quarter of 2020.
