Ford adds a darker edge to the Mustang GT with new Nite Pony limited edition

Ford South Africa has introduced the limited-edition Mustang GT Nite Pony pack, adding a series of black exterior details to the seventh-generation Mustang GT.

The Nite Pony pack is available with the naturally aspirated 5.0-litre Coyote V8, which produces 328kW at 7,000rpm and 540Nm at 5,100rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission and limited-slip differential.

The special-edition treatment focuses largely on the Mustang’s exterior. It gets 19-inch black-painted aluminium wheels, black GT, 5.0 and Pony badges, black mirror caps and a black grille. The roof is also finished in black, while the rear spoiler and headlamp bezels receive the same treatment.

Six exterior colours are available: Oxford White, Vapor Blue, Orange Fury, Race Red, Molten Magenta and Absolute Black.

The Mustang GT Nite Pony retains the standard GT’s selectable driving modes, including Normal, Sport, Track, Drag Strip, Slippery and Custom.

Ford says more than 4,700 Mustangs have been sold in South Africa, with the current seventh-generation Mustang GT and Dark Horse arriving locally in late 2024.

The Ford Mustang GT Nite Pony is priced at R1,375,000.

The price includes a six-year/90,000km Ford Optional Service Plan, four-year/120,000km Ford warranty, four-year/unlimited-distance roadside assistance and a five-year/unlimited-distance corrosion warranty.
