Jaguar has revealed the Type 01, a dramatic four-door electric GT that marks the beginning of a new era for the British brand.
The Type 01 introduces Jaguar’s new modernist design direction, with a low roofline, long bonnet, short front overhang, extended rear overhang and 23-inch wheels. The car was developed around a new electric-only architecture created specifically for its proportions and performance.
Power comes from a tri-motor electric drivetrain producing up to 757kW and 1,365Nm, making the Type 01 the most powerful Jaguar road car yet. Jaguar claims 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds, while 100-180km/h takes just 4.0 seconds.
A 118kWh usable battery and 850-volt architecture provide an anticipated EPA range of up to 644km, while the expected WLTP figure reaches up to 720km. With a 350kW DC charger, Jaguar says the Type 01 can add up to 321km of range in around 13 minutes.
The Type 01 is also Jaguar’s most aerodynamic car to date, with a claimed drag coefficient of 0.23. Active aerodynamic elements, including deployable vanes and a three-stage rear spoiler, help improve efficiency without compromising its design.

Inside, the cabin features a central spine that separates the space into four individual areas. The driver gets a 24-inch single-glass OLED display, while a seven-inch touchscreen provides access to key controls.
An immersive audio system includes a full-width Panoramic Soundbar and Sensory Audio seats.

Jaguar says more than 360 patent applications have been associated with the Type 01. Designed, engineered and crafted in the UK, it is intended to establish the design, technology and driving character of Jaguar’s next generation of electric vehicles.
