Mini has always had a wild side and they have unleashed that side with this Hardcore MINI JCW GP.

There is something about hardcore hot hatches that are so incredible, they give you purest driving sensation. Mini has just launched the Mini JCW Cooper GP in South Africa and it is as hot and hardcore as they come.

Only 38 units of 3000 have been allocated for SA, there have only been two predecessors of the GP and both also had very limited runs in South Africa, with mini bringing only 30 for both models. The catch is that “Only customers who had registered their interest via MINI South Africa’s channels were eligible to purchase one of the 38 units,” says Mini South Africa.

The styling of the car is also extremely radical as it looks like a road racer, with flared arches, intake holes all over the front end of the car and a big rear wing it’s pretty much set for the race track.

Inside you may only bring on another person with you on your joy ride as it is a two-seater only. The back is replaced with a strut beam, how dramatic, it doesn’t end there as the suspension has also been tweaked for extra stiffness and other parts of the body has been constructed with lightweight materials.

The power plant is a 2-litre TwinPower four-cylinder engine that produces 225kW and 450N.m which is plenty for a car as small and light as the Mini Cooper GP. It gets to 100kph in 5.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 265kph.

The price for all this excitement? It’s going cost you R 809 488 and if you have registered your interest via MINI South Africa’s channels and are planning to purchase one, pretty please give me a ride.

Sometimes cars can complicated but that is the beauty in it, cars have different characteristics and brands make a car in their own way that’s a reason why I love these machines. They can invoke all kinds of emotions in a person and my job is to try explain the nature of each car we get and share it with you.
