Blending the convenience of an SUV and the style of a Coupe, Audi presents to you the Q3 Sportback. Yes, you’ve guessed it, the Q3 Sportback is based on the Q3 but a little more stylish than its SUV sister.
When it comes to appearance the Q3 Sportback features a low roofline and muscular body, its also three centimetres flatter than the Q3. Upfront you find a Singleframe octagonal black grille which is strongly three-dimensional in design. Upfront you’ll also find trapezoidal air inlets and the expressive bumper with its flat blade. At the rear, it features a sporty bumper, which has a silver inlay which brings out the design of the bumper quite nicely.
LED headlights and rear lights are standard on the vehicle with an option to upgrade to Matrix LED technology. The Q3 Sportback is available in ten colours, including a new metallic paint colour called Dew Silver, exclusive to the Q3 Sportback. Audi S line exterior trimmings are standard across the range, this includes prominent aluminium elements around the grille, bumper and air inlets. Sporting 18-inch wheels as standard, buyers can opt to upgrade to bigger 19-inch wheels. If you’re not a fan of the aluminum trim, a Black Styling Package is available as an option.
There will be two engines from launch. The first is 1.4 TFSI in the Q3 Sportback 35 TFSI delivers 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque from a four-cylinder engine. It’s mated to a six-speed S tronic transmission. The second engine option is the 40 TFSI quattro S line is fitted with a 2.0 TFSI engine producing 132 kW, 320 Nm of torque and a seven-speed S tronic transmission which allows it to sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.8 seconds. Depending on road conditions and your mood, the Q3 Sportback offers Audi’s drive select in six profiles, from markedly comfortable, highly efficient through to sporty and off-road mode.
Inside the Q3 Sportback features a digital instrument cluster (digital cockpit) with an 8.8-inch screen (optional 12.3-inch screen with the optional technology package). With an array of optional extras, the South African market Audi will be offering package concept. The concept aims to reduce complexity when ordering a new vehicle, considering that a customer is generally faced with a long list of options to choose from. The packages include:
