Jaguar has updated its E-Pace. The little crossover gets a fresher face, tweaks to the interior and runs on Jaguars new vehicle architecture. Jaguar says the “E-PACE is more assertive, connected, refined and efficient than ever.”
At the front, the E-Pace gets a new grille mesh design with diamond detailing, revised lower aperture incorporating a distinctive blade element, while new side fender vents feature the iconic Leaper emblem. New all-LED headlights feature ‘Double J’ Daytime Running Light (DRL) signatures, which are available with optional Pixel LED technology. At the rear, the lower bumper features a new mesh insert which sits between the integrated tailpipes that are standard with four-cylinder petrol engines. The all-LED rear lights are inspired by the all-electric I-PACE and feature Jaguar’s chicane graphic.
The biggest change inside comes in the form of a new 11.4-inch curved-glass HD touchscreen which features the latest version of Pivi Pro infotainment system.
The engine line-up consists of one diesel engine, two petrol engines, and a PHEV ( plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) and runs on Jaguar’s Premium Transverse Architecture. Jaguar claims the new platform which the E-Pace runs on reduces vibration and harshness across the whole cabin, reduces cabin noise and has improved throttle response. The D200 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 147kW/430 Nm and drives all four wheels via nine-speed automatic. The P250 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 184kW/365 Nm and drives all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic.
Jaguar has added two new derivates, the P300 Sport and P300e. The P300 Sport employs a 221kW/400Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that drives all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic. The P300e combines the 147kW 1.5-litre three-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine and an 80kW Electric Rear Axle Drive (ERAD) motor which gives it a combined 227 kW.
Jaguar SA says the E-Pace will be available in South Africa in the first half of 2021.
