We recently got to sample the Honda Civic RS CVT. Now in its 11th generation, the Civic has sold over 26 million units globally in the past 50 years. This sleek new sedan, available in a single trim, is larger than its predecessor and features an extended wheelbase.
In terms of looks, we think it looks good. It come standard with LED head/tail lights, LED daytime running lights and LED fog lights. We love the sporty yet classy design. The sleek sedan comes standard with black 18-inch wheels, and a black spoiler. Its honestly hard to fault its looks.

Inside, the Civic RS exudes quality that rivals premium cars. One has to point out that the Civic RS comes standard with everything, so no optional extras here. The interior features Alcantara seats, leather trims, wireless charging pad, soft-touch materials, and a minimalist dashboard with backlit buttons and white lighting. The partially digital instrument cluster is easy to read, and the infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For those cold Jozi mornings, it comes equipped with heated seats, a sunroof for some ambiance, and an upgraded Bose sound system to them traffic jams.

Under the hood, the Civic RS boasts a smooth 1.5-litre turbocharged engine delivering 131kW and 240Nm of torque.

Power is efficiently sent to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox, which performed seamlessly. Our fuel consumption averaged a respectable 8.4 l/100km. The chassis strikes a perfect balance between comfort and handling, maintaining composure through corners. The steering is precise and responsive, characteristic of Honda’s engineering prowess.
Our time with the Civic RS confirmed that sedans still have significant appeal, especially for those who value driver engagement and the practicality of a spacious trunk and generous rear legroom. At just 2cm shorter in length than a 2022 Audi A4, the Civic RS boasts an impressive level of specification and quality, making it a standout value choice.
