Ferrari has taken the Portofino and given it some extra horses under its hood. The new Ferrari Portofino M is here and he has the details on it.
The “M” stands for ‘Modificata’, which in Ferrari language refers to cars that have undergone an evolution that has boosted their performance. Which is exactly what they did to this Portofino. It has a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 456 kW of power and 760 Nm of torque. The performance figures are also pretty impressive with a 0-100kph time of 3.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 320kph.
Another thing that got an ‘evolution’ is the gearbox, as it has been redesigned and now has 8 gears instead of the previous 7. Ferrari says it is the ‘first eight-speed to be installed on an open-top Ferrari and is based on a dual-clutch oil bath architecture with a 20% smaller clutch module and 35% higher torque delivery’.
There are some slight tweaks to the front bumper, new alloy wheel designs and new exterior paint colours to look forward to as well. The car will be making its way to South Africa next year.
