JJust when we thought we were gonna have to wait too long to see even small snippets of the brand new Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI, Volkswagen has done us a big favor and revealed some pictures to us. We also have some performance figures for you, which I’m pretty sure the whole of South Africa wants to know.
Getting straight to it, the Golf 8 GTI will have a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine giving out 180kw and 370Nm, that is a nice increase from the previous model which in turn equals more VRRRPHAA so good job VW.
The 0-100 time? Well that has not been revealed to us but it surely will be quicker than the predecessor.
VW also tells us that this GTI has a 7 speed dual-clutch gearbox with some new tweaks done to it, to make for some faster gear changes. Inside there is a 10.25-inch digital cockpit and another 10-inch screen, with the whole cabin rearranged in a new design as compared to the old GTI.
I can already sense that as you reading this you ready to trade in your current GTI for this latest model, but you gonna have to wait, we in South Africa could get it towards the end of this year or the first quarter 2021.
