Hennessey Special Vehicles, a Texas-based automotive company, has unveiled their latest creation: the Venom F5. This revolutionary supercar is set to be the fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of over 300 mph.
It’s powered by the same 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine from the F5 Venom that produces an astonishing 1,355 kilowatts and 1,617 Nm. This engine is mated to a 7-speed single-clutch paddle-shift transmission, allowing for lightning-fast shifts and maximum power delivery.
The Venom F5 is constructed from lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum, giving it an incredibly low curb weight of just1,360 kilograms. This combination of lightweight materials and powerful engine allows the Venom F5 to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds and 0-186 mph in less than 10 seconds.
The track-focused version of the Hennessey Venom F5 has been comprehensively re-engineered for increased agility, uncompromised handling, and high downforce. Hennessey has employed the use of a large, adjustable full-width rear wing with endplates in order to boost the car’s downforce. This design choice resulted in over 800 pounds (362 kg) of downforce at speeds of 186 miles per hour (300 kilometers per hour). At even higher speeds of 249 mph (400 kph), the car is able to generate a staggering 1,400 pounds (635 kg) of downforce.
In terms of the cabin, it’s designed to evoke the spirit of fast fighter jets – complete with an aircraft ‘yoke’ for steering. The space exhibits minimal distractions, while promoting maximum driver visibility, tactility, and functionality.
The Venom F5 also features an aerodynamic design that helps it achieve its incredible top speed. The car has a low drag coefficient of 0.33, which is achieved through its sleek bodywork and active aerodynamic elements. The car also features adjustable ride height and active suspension, allowing it to handle like a dream.
