VW has officially launched the Golf GTI TCR in SA! This hatchback rocket is the Hardcore version of the normal Golf 7.5 GTI.
Quick facts. It still has a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine but since the letters, TCR is in the mix it, produces 213kW and 370N.m and capable of getting from 0-100kph in 5.6 seconds, top speed is 264kph, that’s quick.
It will be offered in three colours, Pure white, Pure grey and Tornado red, with some new 19-inch alloys. If you love Alcantara then you will love the inside of the Golf TCR, it has Alcantara on the door inserts, on the gear lever and some Premium Alcantara sports seats with GTI TCR detailing. It will also have some black and red stitching on the floor mats to remind you that it is still a VW GTI.
If you want one it will cost you around R 669 000 and 300 units will be available to order from May 2020.
