Mercedes-Benz has found it pretty hard to keep the new C-Class under wraps, we have seen spy shots and interior leaks but now they have finally revealed the latest model of their most popular car worldwide. It boasts a whole lot of new technology that will surely stand out among its rivals, we got some details about the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
From the exterior, the C-Class is now 6.35cm longer and 1cm wider than the outgoing model, which has given the car more space inside as well as 1.5cm extra headroom. The design of the C-Class takes a lot from the latest E-Class, which looks more like a baby version.
As you might expect all engines that will be available for the C-Class will have an electric motor and if you were a fan of the 6-cylinder engines well you are out of luck, each engine is now 4-Cylinders. A 9-speed automatic is also available for all variants. Starting with the C180 a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder motor is put in place producing 125 kW and 250 Nm, the C200 although the same engine, produces 150 kW and 300 Nm. There will also be a C300 which produces 190kW and 400N.m as well as some diesel engines to choose from.
The interior looks like an incredible place to be as many changes have been made. The biggest change is the huge tablet screen slapped right in the centre cluster with a newly designed dash around it. Apparently, an option for augmented reality is available in the C-Class which is exciting.
Local release for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is yet to be said but the car is assembled in South Africa, we will update as soon as more details are given.
